Welcome to my professional platform for sharing experiences and discussions on the role architects play in helping communities grow stronger, known as Citizen Architect (aka – architect unseen).
A licensed architect with over 25 years of experience in design and project management, my roles in public service a have brought a better understanding of the needs and constraints facing our local public entities and communities.
Experiences working as a mate aboard a commercial sailing schooner in the Florida Keys and a volunteer assisting with disaster relief in Haiti, El Salvador, Nepal, and USA have taught me to be flexible, yet persistent. Even in the most challenging of situations, it is good remember one’s humility and sense of humor.
Today, I work for the City of Madison Planning Department, serve as Vice-Chair of the AIA Disaster Assistance Committee, and continue to act as the AIA WI Co-State Disaster Assistance Coordinator/SAP Trainer.
My goal is to organize, empower and support communities to come together and see new opportunities so that people feel connected and become self-sufficient, and communities more resilient.
